Research in the United States

For many projects in European history, the research starts online, and for many of us in the United States, our research in primary sources starts in American archives. Thankfully, much of the prepretory work for archival research can be conducted from the comfort of your own home, on your computer. Below is a list of useful resources for preparing your research trip to archives in the U.S.; the list is by no means exhaustive, but rather represents just a few of the valuable shortcuts we have by using the internet for research.
